An Honest Trattoria in the Heart of Ridgewood

Il Gigante is a love letter to the comfort foods and home style cooking that we were raised on back in central Italy. Plates here - heaping bowls of steaming ragù, meaty lasagna, topped with generous gratings of parmigiano - are unfussy, familiar and delicious, cooked with the level of love we’d expect of our favorite spots back home in Bologna or Florence.

For us, il Gigante is about creating a feel-good, unrushed, happy space for all the things we love most: eating, drinking and gathering together. It’s a version of our old home, in our adopted home.
