Not bad for a tiny ten-month-old trattoria from Queens! We are honored to be part of such an incredible group of restaurants and are excited for what 2026 will bring. Huge thank you to the Michelin Guide for recognizing our vision and mission.

An Honest Trattoria in the Heart of Ridgewood

Il Gigante is a love letter to the comfort foods and home style cooking that we were raised on back in central Italy. Plates here - heaping bowls of steaming ragù, meaty lasagna, topped with generous gratings of parmigiano - are unfussy, familiar and delicious, cooked with the level of love we’d expect of our favorite spots back home in Bologna or Florence.

For us, il Gigante is about creating a feel-good, unrushed, happy space for all the things we love most: eating, drinking and gathering together. It’s a version of our old home, in our adopted home.
